MEP Manager

The MEP Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing all Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) works to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and in compliance with technical specifications, safety standards, and applicable codes. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Project Management • Manage and coordinate all MEP activities from design review to commissioning and handover. • Develop MEP execution plans, schedules, and method statements. • Monitor progress and ensure alignment with overall project timeline. • Coordinate MEP works with architectural, structural, and other disciplines. Design & Technical • Review MEP drawings, specifications, and shop drawings. • Identify design clashes and coordinate resolutions using BIM where applicable. • Ensure compliance with local codes, standards, and project specifications (ASHRAE, NFPA, IEC, etc.). • Provide technical guidance to site teams and subcontractors. Cost & Procurement • Assist in MEP cost estimation, budgeting, and value engineering. • Review material submittals and approve technical compliance. • Coordinate procurement of MEP materials and equipment. • Control MEP variations, claims, and cost impacts. Site Supervision • Supervise MEP installation works on site. • Ensure quality control and proper workmanship. • Coordinate inspections and testing with consultants and authorities. • Enforce HSE requirements related to MEP activities. Testing & Commissioning • Plan and manage testing, commissioning, and balancing of MEP systems. • Ensure systems operate as designed before handover. • Prepare as-built drawings, O&M manuals, and handover documentation. Stakeholder Coordination • Liaise with clients, consultants, contractors, and authorities. • Attend coordination meetings and provide technical reports. • Resolve technical and site-related issues promptly. Qualifications • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical Engineering, or related field. • Professional certifications (PE, PMP, LEED) are an advantage. ________________________________________ Experience • Minimum 7–10 years of MEP experience in construction projects. • Proven experience as MEP Manager or Senior MEP Engineer. • Experience in large-scale projects (commercial, industrial, hospital, data center, etc.) preferred. ________________________________________ Skills & Competencies • Strong knowledge of HVAC, electrical, plumbing, fire protection systems. • Excellent coordination and leadership skills. • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications. • Familiar with BIM, AutoCAD, Revit, MS Project/Primavera. • Strong problem-solving and communication skills. • Good understanding of safety and quality management systems. ________________________________________ Working Conditions • Site-based with coordination meetings at project office. • May require extended working hours during critical project phases.
