Accountant

Specifically, this position will focus on the following areas, in order of priority: (~50% of total work) – Accounting & Financial Operations • Maintain and oversee the full set of accounts, ensuring accurate and timely recording of all financial transactions. • Oversee general ledger, bank reconciliations, and monthly account reconciliations. • Develop and maintain accounting processes and procedures to ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards. • Oversee project-related accounting records, including development costs, construction expenses, and fixed assets. • Ensure proper documentation and filing of all accounting records. (~30% of total work) – Project Accounting & Reporting • Work closely with other project teams to support financial tracking of development projects. • Develop and maintain reporting structures for ongoing projects, including reporting timelines and formats. • Monitor project costs against budgets and assist in identifying variances. • Prepare basic project financial reports and assess key project financial KPIs. • Support cash flow monitoring related to project expenditures. (~20% of total work) – Tax, Audit & Compliance Support • Support external auditors and tax auditors by preparing schedules, explanations, and supporting documents. • Ensure compliance with local regulations, tax requirements, and internal controls. • Coordinate with tax consultants, auditors, and relevant authorities as required. • Prepare tax calculations and statutory filings, including withholding tax, VAT, and other applicable taxes. Education & Experience This position is open to all nationalities, but preference will be given to Cambodian nationals. • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field. • Minimum 3–5 years of direct accounting experience. • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to present financial information clearly. • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, particularly within a growing and developing organization. Languages: Fluent in English, competency in either Khmer or Chinese (Mandarin) preferred but not essential. Other Details Working hours: Approximately 40-45 hours per week; primary workdays shall be Monday to Friday 9 AM – 6 PM with occasional offsite work. Work outside of official hours will be required on occasions. Reports to: This position will report to Finance Manager.
