AFIS is seeking teaching staff to for Academic Year 2025-2026 with the following positions: The Teacher Trainer (Professional Development) is responsible for leading professional development, instructional coaching, and quality assurance aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum. The role ensures high standards of teaching and learning through systematic teacher training, classroom observation, monitoring, and instructional feedback, with the goal of improving teacher performance and student outcomes. ________________________________________ Key Responsibilities Teacher Training & Professional Development • Design and deliver professional learning programs aligned with the Western Australian Curriculum and SCSA requirements. • Facilitate induction and onboarding programs for new teachers. • Conduct workshops on pedagogy, lesson planning, assessment, differentiation, and classroom management. • Develop and maintain training materials, teaching guides, and curriculum support resources. ________________________________________ Teacher Observation, Monitoring & Coaching • Conduct regular classroom observations using structured observation tools and WA Curriculum benchmarks. • Monitor lesson delivery, student engagement, differentiation, and assessment practices. • Provide constructive, evidence-based feedback to teachers following observations. • Develop individualized coaching plans to support teacher improvement. • Support teachers in implementing feedback and tracking progress over time. ________________________________________ Curriculum Implementation & Assessment • Ensure effective implementation of the WA Curriculum across year levels and learning areas. • Train teachers on: o Curriculum planning and scope & sequence o Assessment design and moderation o Literacy and numeracy integration (including OLNA preparation where applicable) • Support teachers in using student data to inform instruction and intervention. ________________________________________ Monitoring, Evaluation & Quality Assurance • Monitor instructional quality and consistency across classrooms. • Track teacher performance and professional growth against agreed standards. • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and coaching interventions. • Prepare reports and summaries on teacher performance, observation outcomes, and training impact. • Support school compliance with academic standards and external requirements. ________________________________________ Collaboration & Academic Leadership • Work closely with Academic Coordinators, Heads of Department, and school leaders. • Support whole-school improvement initiatives and teaching and learning priorities. • Promote a culture of reflective practice, accountability, and continuous improvement.
