Products Development Specialist - URGENT Siem Reap (Interior Decor & Manufacturing)

Key Responsibilities: 1. Product Research & Innovation • Study market trends, customer needs, and competitor products to identify new product opportunities. • Research materials, finishes, and construction methods suitable for interior décor and furniture applications. • Explore innovative design ideas and technologies for functional and aesthetic improvement. 2. Product Design & Development: • Develop design concepts, drawings, 3D models, and prototypes using CAD software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, SketchUp, etc.). • Collaborate with the design and production teams to ensure feasibility and manufacturability of designs. • Create and update product specifications, BOM (Bill of Materials), and technical documentation. • Coordinate prototype production and conduct performance, durability, and usability tests. 3. Material & Process Optimization: • Work with suppliers and production teams to evaluate new materials, hardware, and finishes. • Recommend cost-saving and quality-improvement solutions through process innovation. • Support production in developing jigs, fixtures, or templates for new product assembly. 4. Quality & Compliance: • Ensure all new products meet safety, quality, and sustainability standards. • Work closely with the QC department to set inspection criteria and tolerance levels. • Conduct pilot production and validate the results before mass production. 5. Cross-functional Collaboration: • Liaise with the Sales & Marketing team to align product development with customer demand and brand identity. • Support the Procurement team in sourcing innovative and cost-effective materials. • Provide technical support during product presentations and client customization requests. Qualifications: • Bachelor’s degree in Industrial Design, Interior Design, Furniture Technology, Mechanical Engineering, or related field. • 3–5 years of experience in product development, R&D, or furniture/interior manufacturing. • Strong knowledge of materials (wood, metal, laminates, upholstery, etc.) and production techniques (CNC, finishing, joinery, etc.). • Proficiency in design and 3D modeling software (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Rhino, SketchUp, etc.). • Good understanding of ergonomics, functionality, and cost optimization. • Creative mindset with problem-solving and analytical skills. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
