Project Engineer – Fit-out & Renovation

Job Purpose: To manage and support the successful delivery of fit-out, renovation, and improvement projects by overseeing site execution, coordinating MEP and civil works, and ensuring effective control of engineering documentation. The Project Engineer ensures quality, safety, and timeline compliance while resolving construction defects and contributing to continuous project improvement. Responsibilities: 1. Fit-out and Renovation Projects - Supervise and coordinate all site activities related to interior fit-out and renovation works. - Coordinate with contractors, vendors, and consultants to meet quality and timeline targets. - Liaise with consultants, contractors, and suppliers to execute design intent and resolve on-site issues. 2. Defect Rectification and Improvement Works - Recommend technical solutions for building or system improvements. - Plan and implement project improvement initiatives for building systems and finishes. - Maintain a log of all defects and follow up with contractors for timely resolution. 3. Technical Documentation & Control - Prepare and maintain engineering and technical documentation, including drawings, method statements, reports, and material submittals. - Ensure all documents are accurately filed, updated, and available to relevant stakeholders. - Track RFI (Request for Information), NCR (Non-conformance Reports), and other correspondence. 4. Construction Coordination and Technical Support - Coordinate MEP and Civil works at site, ensuring smooth integration of systems. - Review construction drawings, specifications, and submittals. - Support procurement by preparing BOQs and technical comparisons. 5. Reporting and Communication - Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly project reports. - Attend site meetings and provide updates on progress, issues, and next steps. - Communicate effectively with stakeholders including consultants, contractors, and internal teams. Requirements: • Education: Degree in Civil, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering • Experience: Minimum 3 years in construction or fit-out projects • Technical Skills: - Strong knowledge of MEP & Civil works - Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) - Familiar with AutoCAD; knowledge of document control systems is a plus • Soft Skills: - Detail-oriented with good time management - Effective communicator and team player - Able to work independently on fast-track projects
