Job Summary The Senior Accountant oversees accounting operations, ensures compliance with financial regulations, manages cost analysis related to waste disposal, recycling, staffing, and fleet management, and prepares strategic financial reports to support budgeting and tender pricing. Key Responsibilities •Lead and manage the full financial accounting cycle. •Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. •Monitor operational costs such as: o Fuel consumption per route/vehicle o Landfill & disposal fees o Outsourced hauling and equipment rental •Ensure accuracy in fixed asset registers (trucks, compactors, bins, machinery). •Monitor accounts payable and receivable, including tracking vendor invoices and customer collections •Assist with cost projections for contract bidding and waste management tenders. •Coordinate with auditors and regulatory authorities. •Assist and enforce internal financial controls and process improvements. •Provide financial insights to management to reduce operational spending. •Support data entry into accounting software (QuickBooks or equivalent). Minimum Qualifications •Bachelor’s or master’s in accounting, Finance, or equivalent. •4–8+ years of accounting experience (preference in logistics, waste management, or construction sectors). •Strong knowledge of CIFRS and corporate taxation. •Experience in budgeting, forecasting, and cost allocation. •Proficiency in ERP or advanced accounting systems. Skills & Competencies •Strong analytical and decision-making ability. •Leadership and team supervision capability. •Excellent communication and reporting skills. •Strategic thinking and attention to detail.
